Mr. Stokes is the Principal and Senior Environmental Scientist at Envirotech Consulting Services, Inc. (Envirotech), with over 35 years of experience in environmental sciences, management and consulting. Mr. Stokes has conducted assessments and directly managed and written reports including implementation and reporting for over 4,500 environmental site studies and remediation projects. These properties have consisted of a wide variety of land uses, from heavy industrial manufacturing facilities and large commercial buildings with historic uses, to undeveloped properties.
Mr. Stokes has gained first-hand experience over the years to professionally evaluate environmental conditions for purposes of land re-use and redevelopment of existing facilities and new construction. Specifically, Envirotech has completed environmental remediation projects at numerous facilities in Central and Northern Indiana. These projects were completed successfully by providing full assessment and remedial actions with respect to existing and historic environmental conditions.
Personally, Mr. Stokes has conducted physical site inspections, regulatory compliance audits, asbestos removals, subsurface investigations, UST closures and soil removal projects, and written reports for over 2.500 project site locations, primarily consisting of industrial manufacturing and commercial / multi use facilities throughout Indiana and the mid-west United States.
Projects for Envirotech have included numerous site assessments, and subsurface soil and groundwater investigations for both industrial and commercial properties, including asbestos inspections and complete removals in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri and Iowa. Other projects include regulatory compliance audits, permitting evaluations for solid waste processing operations, chemical use and waste process evaluations.
Mr. Stokes has extensive experience with conducting asbestos, lead paint and mold inspections and implementing the complete removals and abatement of these materials from large commercial buildings and industrial facilities extending over periods of time ranging from a few weeks to over five months on-site.
In addition, Mr. Stokes has managed soils and groundwater investigations and remedial actions at a wide variety of heavy manufacturing facilities, including automotive parts and distribution facilities, cold-roll steel manufacturing, iron foundries, automobile manufacturing facilities and large commercial facilities. Mr. Stokes has experience in conducting numerous environmental audits of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) industrial facility operations and has assisted in RCRA closures of hazardous waste management units and storage areas.
In addition, Mr. Stokes has extensive experience in subsurface investigations and soil remediation projects, including subsurface soil and groundwater sampling and testing programs, underground storage tank investigations, removals and closures, contaminated soils delineation and disposal, waste emplacement and wastewater treatment. Past experience includes direct management and mechanical operations at a chemical wastewater treatment plant for purposes of meeting NPDES and categorical pretreatment facility standards.
Mr. Stokes has direct experience in managing environmental matters for manufacturing operations for an automotive components and metals plating facilities. Mr. Stokes has conducted a variety of soil and groundwater investigations resulting in remediation of special and hazardous waste soils, excavations, transportation and permitting for waste disposal.
Mr. Stokes initially gained experience with employment at large steel and automotive manufacturing facilities being responsible for managing waste disposal operations, laboratory analysis, managing environmental conditions, and has the current responsibility of providing overall environmental consulting for developers on numerous redevelopment projects throughout the State of Indiana.
